Medical Re-assessment over 65yrs Injury on Duty

Provison for re-assessment of Officers in receipt of Injury on Duty Claiments has existed in the Pension Regulations since 1972 but had not been enforced by the Northern Ireland Policing Board.

Under a direction from the Home Office this regulation is now being enforced by the N I Policing Board.

We along with the Police Federation for NI, NARPO and the Police Federation for England and Wales are raising the matter with Government, NARPO have had questions asked in the House of Commons and have met with the Policing Minister and have been assured that a review of the policy will take place. Legal action is also being taken.

In the meantime those who have been reduced by the selected Medical Practitioner must go through the Appeals Process.
